The relevance to universities may not be immediately clear, but blockchain can be used in academic institutions because this technology is a useful way to reduce administrative costs and increase certification security. But even more ambitious, Blockchain will transform higher education and help establish a system for academicians to directly check students’ knowledge and credentials. It's about using the technology to create a secure, trusted and publicly available catalog of academic degrees in which community colleges and universities ratify academic credentials.
